APBSA University Prize in Architecture

The Architectural Practice Board of SA University Prize in Architecture - formerly 'Dean W Berry Prize'

The Architectural Practice Board of South Australia has provided an annual prize to a student at each of South Australia's Schools of Architecture, (University of Adelaide: University of South Australia) since 1974.  First known as the 'Dean W Berry Prize', to commemorate Dean Berry's 27 years as the Board's chairman, the Prize became the Architectural Practice Board of SA University Prize in 2014.   The following rules apply to the prize:

  1. The prize shall be known as "The Architectural Practice Board of SA Prize".
  2. The prize shall be of the value of $500 and the amount will be reviewed in 2017.
  3. The prize shall be awarded by the Board.  The University of SA will be invited to nominate the final year student in their Master of Architecture course who has, in the year of the award, excelled in the architectural practice subject.  The University of Adelaide will be invited to nominate the student in their Master of Architecture course who has, in the year of the award, excelled in the architectural practice subject.  The Board will review the nominations presented by the University of Adelaide and University of South Australia and will make the final decision on the recipients.
  4. If the opinion of the Board is that no student is of sufficient merit, no award shall be made.
  5. The prize shall be presented at an appropriate function designated by the Board.
