Board Members & Meetings

The Architects Act provides that the Board will consist of nine members. Three of these are to be people appointed by the Governor in Council and six are to be registered architects elected by registered architects in accordance with the by-laws made by the Board. The term of membership of the Board is three years so that in February/March of each year one of the Government appointees comes up for re-appointment or replacement whilst two of the elected members have their terms of election expire, being of course eligible for re-election.

MEETINGS OF THE BOARD

The Board meets formally each month from February to December, usually the third Wednesday. It holds occasional Special Meetings and appoints sub committees as may be required.

Meetings of the Board are attended by the Registrar.

Quorum
A quorum of the Board is 5 members

Meeting Procedures
The Act, Section 17 (2) states that "Subject to the by-laws of the board the business of the board shall be conducted in such manner as the board determines".
